With high highs come big crashes which can deal blows to your motivation and psyche. With low lows you might quit or give up.

I love comparing things to basketball because I grew up studying and idolizing NBA players because that's what the boys (and I) were into growing up.

One of the common themes NBA players talk about with regards to the grind of the season is to not get too high or too low.

I'm beginning to understand what it means to not get too high or too low because these past 4 months I've experienced periods of clear highs and lows.

I've even "quit" my project like 3-5 times. I even shut down the production environment of my app and it was down for like a week.

After a high period last week, the momentum died down hard as the feature development became a slog.

Recently I've been on a low period.

But I was able to start working again by focusing on working for 1 or 2 hours. Focusing on the number of hours I put in VS how I feel about the project or how much progress I'm making helps because at the end of the day, I feel good if hours were put in.

Garry Vee's maxim of "macro patience and micro impatience" is another idea that's becoming solidified in my head.

I would like to quit and start another venture though aha.
